With all the lighting accessories now available, it can be tricky to pull the right mix of gear together. Lowel has introduced more than a dozen new kits to solve that problem. Each kit includes related accessories, with some created especially for the DV shooter. The DV Core 250 kit for example, builds around the compact, tungsten/halogen “baby” Rifa 44. This soft light uses Lowel's umbrella-style reflector, enabling quick setups while folding to only 17in. The Rifa 44 uses lamps ranging from 50W to 300W, and runs on 12V, 30V, 120V, or 230V. The kit, packed with accessories, includes the Pro-light, a variety of lamps, barndoors, gels, diffuser, clear glass, a Uni-stand, and a Tota frame.
