Lower-cost storage
While not everyone needs vast amounts of storage, small cablecasters and schools often find that it makes sense to keep as much video online as possible, since this greatly speeds postproduction and teaching chores. Medéa takes some of the pain out of buying lots of storage with its VideoRaid RT3 and VideoRaid RT3X disk arrays, touted as the first ATA-based RAID storage solutions to feature a high-performance Ultra320 SCSI interface. The single-channel VideoRaid RT3 — a Video Systems NAB 2003 Pick Hit award winner — holds up to 1.25TB, or enough space for more than 12 hours of 10-bit uncompressed SD footage. All of that fits into a desktop enclosure not much bigger than a double-sized cigar box.
